Dr. Nesbitt Perez oversees CICU’s college awareness outreach initiatives, including development of print and electronic resources, workshops, and conferences. She recently developed and managed the Independent Sector’s Higher Education Faculty Professional Development Project, working with the sector’s educator preparation programs' faculty. With experience in higher education administration, research, program development and grant writing spanning more than three decades, she has presented at numerous conferences, has successfully secured and overseen a number of competitive and non-competitive grants, and represents CICU as liaison to several professional organizations and committees (NYSFAAA, NYSACAC, NYSTAA, NYSSCA, CACNY, Study New York, Smart Scholars ECHS, NYSED edTPA Task Force, NYSED Advisory Council on Postsecondary Education for Students with Disabilities, CCCCCNY).

As copy editor, proofreader and publication production manager, Dr. Nesbitt Perez assisted the editors and publisher, Mouton de Gruyter Berlin, with publication of the 348-page volume Explorations in Pragmatics: Linguistic, Cognitive and Intercultural Aspects (2007). She has experience teaching beginning and intermediate French courses to undergraduates, and, for more than 10 years, taught and co-directed a French language enrichment program for young children.

Dr. Nesbitt Perez holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in second language acquisition, as well as a master’s and bachelor's degree in French. She also earned a Licence (B.A.) in English and a Certificat de Maîtrise in American literature from the Université de Paris IV-Sorbonne.
